KARINA GORDIEVICH, Piano Teacher

Karina Gordievich spent her early years and initial piano studies in the Ukraine. After immigrating to the U.S., she studied with Dr. Bowling in Kitsap County for several years before entering college as a music major. She won virtually every award offered for piano performance throughout the region in high school. Mrs.Gordievich was a regional representative at a Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) conference and performed with the Bremerton and Bainbridge Island Symphonies numerous times after winning concerto competitions. She was given a scholarship to Eastman School of Music where she studied with Thomas Schumacher. Mrs. Gordievich later went to the University of Washington under the instruction of Craig Sheppard. She has been featured on cable T.V. and several newspapers and has had an extensive solo-performance and accompanying experience. Since receiving her Bachelor and Master's degrees in piano performance at the University of Washington, Mrs.Gordievich has been the principal pianist for the Kitsap Opera for the past three years, continues to be involved as an accompanist in the Music Educator's Solo/Ensemble competitions every year and will be starting her fourth term as the president of the local West Sound Music Teachers Association.

Currently, she teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced students of all ages in Silverdale, as a faculty member of Bowling Music Studios, as well as, at her own Concert Piano Studio in Allyn, Mason County. Mrs. Gordievich was a recipient of the distinguished Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal's 2010 "40 Under Forty" Award which honors outstanding young business leaders who make a notable impact on their community and industry.
